Frankly, I think investors will purchase rental homes in other towns, therefore leading to less buyers for each property, and so lower sales number & prices. Let's watch to see if that is true. You tax something you get less of it.
Renters often can pay the rent, but not muster a down payment. Investors or Homeowners who provide Rental Housing have the down payment but for either family, or business reasons may find that they have to rent out a house for a short time rather than live in it. Then there are the investers who have the down payment, but depend on renters to make the monthly payments on the house. These transactions will all be affected by the inspection tax of 95.00 per year. Yes call it what it is this is a Tax. The City has determined that it requires a tax to insure a rental unit that is a BUSINESS after all, should pay an inspection tax to make sure it LOOKS Good.
Remember, If the Property Results in an Income for the Owner the Owner will pay State and Federal Income Tax on that Income. This is just another bite at the apple.
Protect your Huts, Tents, and homes ye citizens as the Ruler has a desire for your property.
